Avalanche Card: AVAX and Stablecoin Payments Now Accepted via Visa

Discover how the Avalanche Card enables users to seamlessly spend cryptocurrencies like AVAX, USDC, and USDT at Visa-accepted merchants worldwide.

The Avalanche Card is now officially live, giving AVAX users a seamless way to spend crypto like cash. Backed by Visa and developed by Avalanche Foundation in partnership with Rain Liquidity, this launch makes crypto a real-world payment option for everyday users.

Spend Crypto Like Cash, Starting Today

Starting now, Avalanche users can apply for the Avalanche Card through the official site and begin spending their crypto instantly. Whether shopping online or in-store, the card supports purchases at any Visa-accepting merchant worldwide.

The card supports AVAX, Wrapped AVAX (wAVAX), USDC, and USDT. Users can select which asset to use for spending, and the Avalanche platform handles the daily asset conversion to cover purchases.

Quick Access, Simple Setup

Getting started is simple. After downloading the Avalanche Card app, users go through a short KYC process. This includes uploading a valid government-issued ID, a selfie, and basic personal information. Once verified, users receive access to a virtual card. A physical version is available upon request.

There are no credit checks and no monthly fees. The virtual card is free to issue, and physical cards are also free. Users only pay a 1% fee on international purchases. Avalanche Card does not charge any conversion or loading fees.

Built for Security and Control

The Avalanche Card links directly to a self-custody wallet. This ensures users retain control of their crypto. Security features include:

  • Real-time spend alerts
  • Card freezing and unfreezing
  • PIN management
  • Dispute resolution tools

These features give users peace of mind while spending their digital assets.

Available Across Regions—With Some Limitations

The card is live in many U.S. states, Latin American countries, and the Caribbean. However, it is not available to residents or citizens of Cuba, Venezuela, Nicaragua, Russia, Iran, Syria, North Korea, and certain regions of Ukraine.

As regulations evolve, Avalanche may expand access to more regions. For now, supported areas can take full advantage of this integration between crypto and traditional finance.

A Step Toward Practical Crypto Use

The Avalanche Card bridges DeFi and real-world payments. It allows users to skip complex exchanges or wallet conversions and instead use crypto directly for daily needs.

This launch also marks another step toward broader crypto adoption. It shows how layer-1 networks like Avalanche are working to deliver tools that serve both developers and users alike.
