Ondo Global Markets Launches on Solana: Making 200+ Tokenized U.S. Stocks and ETFs Accessible 24/7

Ondo Finance brings 200+ tokenized U.S. stocks and ETFs to Solana blockchain, enabling 24/7 trading with instant settlement. Discover how this expands access to traditional markets through innovative blockchain technology.

Ondo Finance has officially launched its Global Markets platform on Solana, bringing more than 200 tokenized U.S. stocks and ETFs to the high-performance blockchain. This launch marks a significant expansion in the tokenized real-world assets (RWA) space, making traditional financial instruments available for trading around the clock with settlement times measured in seconds rather than days.

The Solana integration enhances Ondo’s position as the largest issuer of tokenized assets, with approximately $365 million already tokenized across various blockchains. This expansion follows Ondo’s earlier move to BNB Chain in October, which opened access to 3.4 million daily active users. Now, Solana’s 3.2 million daily active users can also access these financial instruments through blockchain rails.

How Ondo’s Tokenized Stocks Work

Ondo Global Markets tokenizes publicly traded U.S. stocks and ETFs, giving investors economic exposure to these assets without directly holding them. Each token is fully backed by the corresponding stock or ETF, held with one or more licensed U.S. custodial broker-dealers and cash in transit. This approach differs from synthetic assets by providing actual economic exposure to regulated securities.

When investors hold an Ondo tokenized stock, they receive the economic benefits as if they owned the actual stock, with dividends automatically reinvested into the underlying asset. For example, if you hold AAPLon (Apple stock tokenized by Ondo), you gain exposure to Apple’s price movements while any dividends get reinvested, increasing the token’s value.

The platform enables minting and redemption 24 hours a day, five days a week, aligned with traditional market hours (Sunday 8:00 PM ET to Friday 7:59 PM ET). However, transfers between wallets can happen at any time, giving users flexibility beyond traditional market constraints. Settlements occur in seconds on Solana, significantly faster than the T+1 settlement time in traditional markets.

Benefits of Tokenized Stocks on Solana

Solana’s selection for this expansion brings several advantages to traders and investors. The blockchain processes transactions with fees around $0.00025 each and produces new blocks approximately every 400 milliseconds. This speed and cost-efficiency make it ideal for trading assets that behave like traditional securities.

The benefits include:

  • 24/7 token transfers between wallets, even when traditional markets are closed
  • Near-instant settlement in seconds rather than the standard T+1 cycle
  • Seamless integration with existing cryptocurrency wallets and DeFi protocols
  • Increased global access to U.S. financial markets for eligible international investors
  • Programmable compliance features built into the token standards

Nathan Allman, Ondo Finance founder and CEO, emphasized the significance of this development: “Ondo Global Markets is a breakthrough in financial access. Global investors can now access the largest selection of transferable tokenized U.S. stocks and ETFs onchain. We saw stablecoins export the U.S. dollar by bringing it onchain. Now, Ondo Global Markets is doing the same thing for U.S. securities.”

Growing Market for Tokenized Real-World Assets

The launch comes amid surging interest in tokenized real-world assets. According to industry data, the broader RWA market has more than doubled since August 2025, approaching $700 million in total value locked. This growth reflects increasing demand for bringing traditional assets onto blockchains, combining the benefits of digital ownership with exposure to conventional financial instruments.

Ondo’s expansion also benefits from favorable regulatory developments. The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission recently closed a confidential investigation into Ondo without filing charges, providing a more certain regulatory environment for the platform to operate in. This regulatory clarity has boosted confidence in the tokenized assets space.

Competing platforms are also emerging. Kraken, which recently acquired Backed Finance (the second-largest participant with around $162 million in tokenized assets), offers similar products. Meanwhile, Robinhood has expanded into tokenized equities on Arbitrum, and Coinbase is seeking SEC approval to bring tokenized stocks to U.S. customers.

The Future of Tokenized Finance

The tokenization of traditional financial assets represents a significant frontier in the evolution of both cryptocurrency and traditional finance. McKinsey estimates that the total tokenized market cap could reach $2 trillion by 2030, even excluding stablecoins.

For Solana users, Ondo’s platform provides a bridge to traditional markets without leaving the blockchain ecosystem. The initiative combines the security and reliability of regulated securities with the efficiency, programmability, and accessibility of blockchain technology.

As more traditional assets move on-chain, the line between conventional finance and decentralized finance continues to blur. Ondo’s expansion to Solana represents another step toward a future where all types of assets might be represented and traded on blockchains, potentially transforming how global financial markets operate.
